This class focuses on the discovery and exploration of design concepts in art, film and animation and in the way they repeat in each medium. During the semester we will focus on composition and elements of visual language and discuss of how they visually convey the storyline. Together we will re-think the visuals and re-create solutions that might strengthen the impact of the image. Students will present some of their artwork, film, scripts or animation and we will discuss if the final image has the intended effect on the audience. Students will finally research their own elements of visual language that they can use in their own productions. Each class will be accompanied by art and screenings of film and animation.
