Description: The workshop will give an overview of Southeast Asian animation history and explore how to create new content for the multi-cultural puzzle. Singapore, with its vibrant multi-cultural society, provides an ideal springboard for such explorations. The workshop will provide a fascinating insight into the traditions of animation from Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines.  Other topics will be new ideas for Asian animation, how  to develop new design ideas for animation from Asian art and mythologies. Visual development and preproduction will be covered with many examples of storyboards, character designs and model sheets, concept art and animated sequences.
