Biography

A musician, interactive sound designer, and creative technologist, Andy has an M.P.S. from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU and a B.A. in sound studies from Gallatin School at NYU.  Andy has worked as a producer and engineer on musical recording projects, some of which have been released on Swedish music label, Ayler Records.  As a musician, he has performed and recorded in a wide range of music including electro-acoustic composition, free-improvised music and traditional Ethiopian jazz.  While studying interactive technology at NYU's ITP, he worked on interactive animated video installations, 3d audio compositions, electro-acoustic and mechanical sound installations, and computer programs enabling experimental practices in musical play for the physically and cognitively impaired.  He has exhibited his work throughout the New York area.  Andy has also studied language and music in Egypt, China, and Ghana, and assisted in Arts programs for Special Programs, Tisch School of the Arts in Berlin, Dublin, and China.
