Screenwriting

New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Asia Dramatic Writing Department offers concentrations in Playwriting, Screenwriting, and Television Writing taught by a faculty of teachers, all of whom are working professionals in their fields. The two-year, 64 – 72 credit, Master of Fine Arts program emphasizes the cross-training of dramatists. Students develop foundational experience in all mediums of Dramatic Writing with concentration in one particular medium.

The first semester of the program offers a prescribed curriculum to all students. During the second semester, writers choose a specialty area and enroll in an intense workshop and lab focusing exclusively on playwriting, screenwriting or television writing. Writers devote much of the rest of their course of study to their chosen concentration, as well as being cross-trained in other areas of writing.
