It's hard enough to get an audition – don't squander it. There are so many really good actors who do not know how to audition and so never get past the first gate. This one-day workshop is designed to show actors how to get the most out of a casting meeting. Auditioning can be frightening. It is also a specific and learned ability. Actors will learn it in this day-long workshop taught by Los Angeles casting director and Tisch Asia professor Pennie Du Pont. Pennie has cast over 20 Hollywood feature films. Actors will leave the workshop with a technique for success when auditioning for film, TV or theatre. The workshop will cover the casting process from getting an appointment to getting a call back. Mock meetings with agents and casting directors, preparation of movie scenes and monologues, cold readings, on camera technique, how to handle the meeting, what to wear, do's and don'ts.Class will work with video camera so you can see for yourself and be guided by the casting director – then repeat the audition. Video of the actor's work will be available for the student. By the end of the day students will have learned that even if they don't get "this part" they will get another because the director will remember them.
Certificate of completion will be awarded to students who satisfactorily complete the workshop.
