Aesthetic Apps, Designing Device Applications from Script to Mini-Screen

ANDA-GT.        2 Credits

The integration of portable devices into our everyday life has not only broadened our methods of digital communication, but has also opened up the way we view and interact with art, literature, and entertainment. The vehicle of this expanding realm is driven by custom-tailored user functions, otherwise known as Apps. In this class students will build basic device Applications, concentrating on the design aspect, and moving into basic production, distribution and market strategies. Interactive novels, Iconic games, and other design oriented apps will push their host devices into new roles beyond current trends. Interactive Animation will play an inevitable role in this process, as Applications become more dependent on aesthetic, motion, and how these qualities relate to overall function and appeal.
