Film Library
Students have access to audition/rehearsal rooms, screening rooms and an extensive collection of screenplays. Additionally, the library serves the classroom needs of our film and video faculty, supporting with classroom assistance, projection, and check-in and check-out of DVDs, laser discs, videos, films, screenplays, laptops, computer software and all pertinent
screening equipment.
Production Center
The Production Center supports every aspect of the student projects shot every year, with technical seminars, industry-professional equipment, film stock and supplies, equipment repair services, and additional support for planning and development of student films. The equipment packages vary, and are available to students enrolled in production courses. The production center consists of 5 areas which include the Advanced and Fundamental Equipment Areas, Repair Shop, Equipment Reservations Office, and the Production Office, which provides the students with the supplies and resources needed to produce a film or video.
Post Production
Film, video and sound editing, audio mixing, film-to-tape transfers and interformat duplication are provided in the Post Production Area. Students are given curricular allotments and are trained on, and given access to, all the tools they need to complete their projects at a professional level. These tools include Steenbeck flatbed editing, Betacam SP cuts-only, a state of the art sound mixing studio, Pro Tools, Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer, Xpress, Xpress-DV and Symphony.
The Post Production Center is open seven days a week, from morning until late and offers twenty-four hour service at necessary times each semester.
Teaching Soundstage
The Teaching Soundstage, located on the first floor of the Tisch School of the Arts Asia facility, serves as a location for the Department of Film and Television's graduate classes, allowing students a place to be trained in lighting and shooting scenes for film and video in a professional setting. It is equipped with cameras and film stock, grip and lighting equipment, props and a house set.
