This course was one primary goal: To enhance the writer's appreciation and understanding of the collaborative process in the theatre. You can become a better writer by learning to see your play through the eyes of the director, the actor or the designers. In this class, Grad thesis playwrights will work in collaboration with professional actors and directors from repertory theaters based in Singapore. These artists will also include members of the Australian and New Zealand professional theatrical communities, as well as a wide variety of English-speaking actors from the various Indian and Southeast Asian communities of Singapore. It is expected that new and original work will be developed within this program and these new works will be presented in one of the repertory companies based in Singapore. It is quite possible, though not guaranteed, that these new works will be made available for public view. REMINDER: This course is for playwrights only.
