Poetics of the Virtual and the Real

This course introduces students to a wide range of techniques and skills used for digital cinematography. The course covers conceptual design and production using animation and video processing software. Topics covered by the class include manipulating visual media in 2D and 3D, playing with motions, colors, lighting, textures, camera movements, postures and gestures, sounds and human expressions. Students create their own project combining video from the real world and 3D animations taking place inside imaginary worlds.
