Digital Filmmaking
Price: $4,050
Course Description
The Digital Workshop encompasses the basic elements of digital film production. The entire class will meet during lecture sessions for production information, screenings and discussions. During the scheduled lab sessions, students will work in an assigned three or four person crew rotation. Each student will write and direct two projects. One student from each crew will write/direct one project each day, and the other three students will serve as cinematographers, crewmembers and/or actors on their crew members' productions.
Each lecture and lab session will be intensive. Work missed because of absence will be difficult, if not impossible to make up. Punctual attendance at all lectures and labs is mandatory. All projects will involve out-of-class preparation (pre-production).
As a student enrolled in an Tisch Asia production class, it is expected that you complete work on time, demonstrate a professional respect for the equipment and show courtesy to those you are working with.
Students will use their personal experience (observations, events, imagination) in developing their short scripts. Students will introduce a situation and resolve it through the action of the story. The style of work should be defined by the content. Creative work will rise above the level of a simple exercise.
