Instructor: Matt SiegelIn five weeks, this intermediate level workshop walks through the guiding aesthetic and technical principals of cinematography and of High Definition (HD) video recording.
Through a series of demonstrations and hands-on exercises, participants will learn the basics of High Definition cinematography and the operation of the latest HD camera systems.
The cinematography tour includes creative choices for shutter speed, F/T stop, depth of field, white and black balance, lenses, and the language of widescreen composition.
A basic overview of menu controls touches upon HD recording formats, progressive and interlace shooting, highlight control, GAMMA selection, and the use of black ped/stretch to enhance the captured images. In camera color correction and color theory will also be addressed.
Studio and location lighting instruments will be discussed and used to create portraiture, basic interview, and simple INT set lighting.
