Film Story Analysis II

A course designed to help screenwriting students better organize their own narratives, we will engage in storytelling analysis of fourteen classic American and foreign films, with a focus on structure, character development, expression of theme and overall tone and style. The films are also placed in a historical, political and social context. Among the films to be screened: Black Legion, Angels With Dirty Faces, His Girl Friday, Bicycle Thief, Asphalt Jungle, All About Eve, The Battle of Algiers, Easy Rider, A Clockwork Orange, Trainspotting, LaHaine, To Live, Eve’s Bayou, Monster’s Ball.
