2D/3D Character Production

H64.2114.901       4 Credits

Instructor: Emil Polyak

The course focuses on using 2D/3D computer graphics for the design and creation of 2D/3D character animations.  Students will explore several examples of living creatures and discover how to recreate believable motions and emotions. In addition to creating 2D/3D characters using rigs, dynamics and muscle simulations, students will also build physical models that can move.  Students will use some MEL scripting for the animation and expression of emotions of 2D/3D characters. The MEL scripting will be built upon the topics covered in the programming class.  The course covers also the modeling of a high resolution character using ZBrush or Mudbox, texturing and rigging for facial and motion capture.

Students enrolled in the 2D/3D Character Development class must register for the companion tech lab class.
